Hotel Monville becomes the first hotel in Montreal certified GOLD by GreenStep<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This certification validates the establishment’s concrete efforts to reduce its environmental impact and offer a unique experience to its guests. The Hotel Monville has implemented several initiatives to reduce its ecological footprint and support the local economy.<\/p>\n

GreenStep is a recognized Canadian organization that evaluates and supports tourism businesses in their sustainable development efforts. Its certification is based on rigorous criteria that measure the environmental, social, and economic impact of establishments. Eco-friendly construction and thinking<\/h3>\n

Since its construction, the Hotel Monville has been proactive in its approach to energy efficiency and reducing its ecological footprint. For example, water recovery is used to heat the entire building year-round, and our certified LED lighting and energy-efficient appliances also help reduce our energy consumption. A aimed at going paperless has been implemented in the rooms, and interactive television systems make it easy to obtain all the necessary information about the hotel and its services. No plastic water bottles are distributed in the rooms, and only compostable utensils are used in the restaurant. At Monville, in addition to composting, cooking grease and oils, small electrical appliances, paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, metal, paint, and other hazardous waste are recycled for the most part.<\/p>\n

A location that promotes eco-mobility<\/h3>\n

The hotel’s location is also no coincidence, as it promotes eco-mobility given its proximity to two metro stations, the Palais des congr\u00e8s, Old Montreal, and the Quartier des spectacles. To encourage less polluting travel, it even has three charging stations for electric vehicles.<\/p>\n

Promoting local purchasing and local businesses<\/h3>\n

The Monville Hotel is Montreal. Everything has been designed to promote local purchasing. The building was designed by the renowned Montreal architectural firm ACDF. The bath products come from an organic farm in the Eastern Townships (Produits Oneka). The lamps in the rooms were designed by talented local artisans at Lambert & Fils. The giant mural in the lobby, created by local artist Val\u00e9rie Jodoin Keaton, showcases the best that Montreal and its neighborhoods have to offer.<\/p>\n

Quebec Terroir Honored at Mon\u00e8me Restaurant<\/h3>\n

The hotel’s restaurant, Mon\u00e8me, is certified Aliments du Qu\u00e9bec. Chef C\u00e9dric Deslandes makes it a point of honor to use fresh local products in almost all of the dishes on the menu and to offer homemade dishes.<\/p>\n

Green Key Certification \u2013 Level 3<\/h3>\n

In 2023, the H\u00f4tel Monville obtained Level 3 Green Key certification, which recognizes achievements in environmental management and corporate social responsibility.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”22247″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Pilot Project with the Greater Montreal Hotel Association<\/h3>\n

From 2023 to 2024, Hotel Monville participated in a sustainable development pilot project with the Greater Montreal Hotel Association, adding a 0.5% eco-friendly tax per reservation to fund eco-friendly projects. This project enabled the hotel to invest in reusable laundry bags in all hotel rooms, eco-friendly guest gifts sourced and made entirely in Quebec, replacement of pens in rooms and banquet halls with local, sustainable Ciklo pens, and many other initiatives.
